How To Drink
John Carpenters Second best film is one of my all time faves, lets nerd out about it, make Six Demon Bag, and try some Baiju.

**********************************

Oh man do I love this movie. It's so incredibly weird and wonderful and full of crazy 80's special effects, and demons, ghosts, vampires, lich's, bugbears, beholders... a veritable Monstrous Manual of wild stuff in here. Plus we've got Jack Bower, portrayed by Kurt Russell basically doing a goofball version of John Wayne but with a semi-truck. It's got Dennis Dun, James Hong, Victor Wong, Donald Li, and of course Kim Cattrall... Magic! Monsters! Adventure! And it's all in the reflexes...

Stranger Things Season 3 has me thinking about the movies I grew up, and John Carpenter, specifically Big Trouble, feature large in my mind at the moment. In the scene before the Big Battle of this movie, Egg Shen, played by Victor Wong, prepares our heroes for battle with a "medicine" that most fans of the film call Six Demon Bag (I point out in this episode that that's not really right, but it doesn't matter) so they can enjoy a "Big Buzz" also, maybe see things other people don't see? It's not very clear. Anyway, I thought it was time I take a stab at making my own Six Demon Bag, and here it is.

Six Demon Bag
.5 oz. -or- 15 ml. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. -or- 30 ml. Lime Juice
Two Dashes of Elemakule Tiki Bitters
.5 oz. -or- 15 ml. Ginger Syrup
.75 oz. -or- 22 ml. Baijiu
2 oz. -or- 60 ml. Appleton Estate 12 year Rum
Shake and decant with Dry Ice
Serve up

So, let me see if I've got this straight. You recognize DnD references, AND you make bad ass cocktails?
I LOVE THIS CHANEL

Hahah this movie is ahead of my time but it’s one my favorite movies next to Goonies and Tbe last dragon! (Thanks dad) I love this movie and I love this show.

How does Baiju compare to Malort?
Caranfin Naurlain
Jack does catch the bottle at the start of the movie and says, "It's all in the reflexes." So maybe the one thing Jack actually can do well is catch and throw objects.
Mr. Blutarsky
I'm gonna forgive you the Jack Bower bit, although mistaking Kurt Russel for Keifer Sutherland is ordinarily a sin.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I watch this channel almost every day and just discovered this episode. Best movies ever! Best drink ever!

It sounds like you're enjoying a drink made out of it sweat gym sock or maybe possibly a sock that's been worn by homeless man for 6 months straight
Merjot
You know I really get the sense that the drink is supposed to be awful, and get you trashed.

Bit of a late comment, but I'm a little disappointed you didn't get the color right. It was definitely blue/green. Do you think it'd be possible to work some blue curacao into the recipe or something similar?
Malcolm Thorne
Baiju sounds like asian Gammeldansk from the description, XD. I've never tasted anything as foul as gammeldansk but it's just one of those things that every nordic man drinks at some point.
I and my friends tend to order it to our guy friends when we're celebrating their birthdays in a sort of "we love you man. Here, fuck you." way.
Eli Berdinner
I'm sure you get this a lot, but I can't help myself...Why Do You Spill So Much!?!?!

I really hate it when someone taps my favorite head. That's why I rarely wear it out. My backup head works well enough and I can take out my favorite for special occasions or when I'm at home.
Gabriel Frankford
If you had the same presentation but soft blue or spicy red, then you would have a Genie. You could make a flight of Genies or a magic carpet ride.

🤣🤣 we just watched this movie last night. Great Carpenter movie starring Kurt Russell and yes it’s very weird movie. But a pretty good movie.
Draco Drew
I subscribed when you this was one of your favorite movies
David Baron
I looked away during the first couple of seconds and the music had me like: "wait did I click on an Abroad in Japan video by accident?"
Donikage
No. No. Goddamit no, no fucking baiju!
Paul Brozyna
There’s been a bottle of that stuff behind the counter of my favourite Chinese restaurant for as long as I can remember. Personally I’d describe the taste as soy sauce, ethanol and nail polish remover.

I’m stealing that Colour Out of Space reference, that possibly the best geek shorthand reference for something that is beyond description in its ephemeral existence and fundamental wrongness that I have ever heard.

Let’s hope you run into nothing that could be described as “Shoggothy”...

I'm a giant Disney's Parks fan, today I'm talking about my favorite attraction, the Enchanted Tiki Room, and making a Dole Whip

**********************************

I'm kind of a giant Walt Disney World Fan and I love me some Dole Whip. The Dole Whip, if you're not familiar, is a soft serve ice cream confection, usually pineapple flavored, that is served just outside of Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. It has a rabid fanbase just desperate to get more of that magic dole whip awesomeness all year long- and now you can! I've got a perfect dole whip recipe you can mix up at home all on your own. I add rum to mine, but that's totally not necessary. In fact, the rum changes the consistency to more of a shake and less of an ice cream. It turns out, this is pretty darn simple to make. The Enchanted Tiki Room is probably my favorite attraction, so I talk about it quite a bit here, and also Walt Disney's history with the attraction and a bit about its strange history in the park too.

Dole Whip
16 oz. -or- 450 g. Frozen Pineapple
2.6 oz. -or- 77 ml. coconut milk
3 tbs -or- 36 g. sugar
pinch of salt
1 tsp -or- 5 ml. lemon juice
1 tsp. -or- 5 ml. lime juice
2 oz. -or- 60 ml. rum (OPTIONAL)
Garnish with pineapple
and an umbrella!
