Ukrainian agony - The concealed war (full On the Frontlines of Ukraine's Proxy War Between 11 months ago   1:42:03

Since mid-July 2014, our war correspondent team is still on site in the southeast of Ukraine – in the Donbass. We shot countless videos and scored over a thousand photos. The team of “Keep a close eye on by Mark Bartalmai” was the ONLY western and German team of journalists with the highest level of accreditation and therefore had access to many critical points in this civil war. Our materials are now being used in a documentary.

We made this documentary film from over 3 terabytes video that were filmed in several months on site.

It shows the different areas of the war in recounting episodes and individual stories – of civilians, soldiers and journalists. The focus is on the personal perspectives of each of the actors, supported by the recorded material, during and after the bombing of cities, battles and on people’s lives under war conditions in the middle of Europe.

The documentary is not an action movie. Rather, it lives from spoken word, by the voices of the people of the interviews and their impressions. Accompanied with sequences of events it draws a picture of the personal feelings of the participants – whether civilians, soldiers and journalists.

“Ukrainian Agony” is a silent film about the immense volume and violence of war. The propaganda has reached a new level of “quality”. Disinformation, concealment, half-truths up to outright lies are the “weapons” of certain Western media in this war – in an unprecedented degree.

it's too easy, if you claim to be a native of Russia just return to your motherland. If I were Ukrainian I would do the same. the minds of people like this are still in 1940. they need to be motivated not to oppress others. this conflict is too complicated to resolve. imagine you're at war but you don't know who your enemy is and who your friends are. if the green man came to protect the Russians, just bring them back and no one would question. but the most shocking thing is the pro-Russian in the conflict, what you do is the most disgusting and despicable to accept.

...ok I went into it objectively..."the east was to have no voice"...DAH DUH DUHH!! (dramatic music) come's so transparent. In fact the ONLY dudes anymore who DON'T give a shit when things are a lie IS all of us in THE WEST/ IN THE UNITED STATES (or at least those apolitical folk who are a bit more well read lol) . *Come on, yeah, poor Russian yet again being stifled by us because we can't stand them having freedom speech. Anyone starting to hear how retarded the entire Maidan narrative sounds? It doesn't SCREAM "bad Hollywood tin foil conspiracy/espionage flick" except, since the GRU's private cut out firms aren't as good as framing up false flags as we are, you have snipers (who were fully Russian dudes in Ukrainian digs...if it was us, our "black ops" gov coup overthrowing types of units? They go "sterile", and are found w/Rubles or drugs, or IDs w/the first iteration of whatever Wagner Group was called in the 2014 era)* ...sorry, you can write me off, my words, etc and even disregard those who lost their families in the East since..CALL EM ALL A PLANT, fine, but how many docs can u watch framing it just perfectly as a good ol' fashioned CIA coup story? We weren't even angry w/Russia really yet (all the propaganda being thrown to fake news since? it's been BECAUSE what they started in Crimea on opening night one even watches this CSIS thing w/apolitical academics they had which this old respected (by both East and West, by FSB and US old school green berets alike) Dr Phil Karber...check it out, he left any US afiiliated SF links, left the military, became an OSCE observer to make sure CIA "black ops" or FSB's equivalent were playing fair...hence why the world asks him or his Foundation to BS or state lines to tow for Russ or pro US, just what he saw and heard. DIck Clarke (of US European Command ret was w/him but even if he's biased, he ain't in the lecture this if you're actually wanting BOTH sides...this is not televised, this was posted on youtube by a Center for International Strategic Studies student or whatever....faculty, actually, because Phil karber was a bad ass legend in his day, hence why even KGB "bad guys" never laid a hand on him...outta

*Does it really matter? The GRU and FSB political "psyops" directorates have been doing more of this than EVEN US...EVER. Watch how the NSA and DIA (what most obviously very well read and educated...BULLSHIT!..'scuse me..i meant, what very high brow folks call deep state) were created. It wasn't some back door transaction to designate those agencies primary taskings/ you dont get how intel collection and HUMINT historically is meant to work (esp COIN, propagandized infiltration of media, etc)...that is a Soviet hallmark and YEAH we're guilty big time, but ask any HONEST (if you can find one very easily) fmr KGB officer in the upper brass top echelon...hell, or even ask a few quasi recent SVR and/or FSB "political directorate" type sub div...they don't even have that "buried w/loyalties and secrets" vibe like most Westernized nations' most controversial intel agencies (which may be the only admirable trait....their secrecy, not transparency, but if you can find it? You'll see who we were always falling behind back in the old school 50's thru 80's E. Europe etc's Stasi days...the KGB owned disinformation, even J. Edgar of the FBI "aggregated/utlized", or stole, the same tactics to blackmail his own bosses in every admin)*
i thought foreign news personnel are suppose to be unbias in a war . its obvious you picked the Russians side
Maybe his next doc should be on how Merkel has allowed his country to be invaded by a horde of child raping, family fucking, street shitting middle eastern and African low IQ hordes who won’t and can’t assimilate. All under the guise of propping up Europe’s massive welfare system and allowing the totalitarian, unelected aristocratic shitbags in Brussels to make a mess of Europe every place they and their kids don’t have to live with or deal with it.
If US companies don’t get the gas, it will just go to Putin and his gangster cronies. You may hate big business, but it gave us the standard of living and tech we have today, and if not for possible corruption in the Ukraine government, the people will see more revenue from private US companies than they will from what are only superficially private companies in Russia, and have zero regulations or rules to follow.
They are in a region with outright armed resistance against their elected government and their biggest complaint is the government they don’t recognize isn’t paying them? Russia is funding the separatists, right or wrong, but none of it gets to the people. On both sides, the volunteers seem to be run by overweight warlords who horde arms and aid to get wealthy while pushing the people into a fervor in order to use them as fodder and a continued suffering that will guarantee western aid for them to steal. Will Russia not allow these people to move to Russia since they consider themselves Russians? These people are fucked, bc we know half of the US government definitely doesn’t give a shit about their suffering, they are white, therefore this will not be covered by the enemy of the people that is the mainstream media, just like the genocide in South Africa while the country crumbles bc they cannot function and provide simple infrastructure after apartheid, bc the current government is corrupt and damn near retarded. If I was these people, I would turn to Russia as well. The EU and US doesn’t care and won’t do shit unless these people were brown or Muslim. Crazy fucking world, and I hope these people can live without always being the pawns of Moscow or Kiev.

It breaks my heart to see that some people here actually believe this.

How can you say "Poor Russia, BIG BAD UKRAINE is going around and killing innocent people and trying to take back the Land (Crimea) that was always Russian land".

Obviously the land was not always Russian. For the past 20+ years Ukraine has been flourishing, building and taking care of this so called Russian Land. More than half of all food and water supply in Crimea was brought in from Kiev and greater Ukraine.

Putin has used the countries vulnerability during a time of crisis to capture back land that is simply strategically convenient for the Russian Navy. He does not care about these people and what this film leaves out that still to this day there are thousands of Ukrainian in Crimea that do not want to be a part of Russia.

"Did not want to be a part of Russia" is basically the whole story of this situation. The people didn't necessarily want to be in the EU. The people only wanted to live a better life. The protest itself was against the Ukrainian government that was and still is highly subjected to influence of Kremlin. Since day one Ukraine has been desperately trying to change this and after 20 years of being oppressed, people started fighting back. Enough is enough.

20 year ago, I used to live in Ukraine and I know first hand of what life is like over there. All of the American people backing Russia in the comments don't know how it feels to turn your house upside down for a few pennies so you can buy some dinner for your self. We lived about 10 miles from Poland and when I visited I was astonished on the quality of life that a person can have. I wanted that for Ukraine and I wanted that for my self.

The truth of the matter is that Ukrainian people do not have a right to pursue happieness like we do here in America and this is definitely caused by the Russian oppression.

Of course a German can sympathize with a larger country annexing parts of another one on pretext.....

Forgive me for asking, regarding MH17 didn't he swan through an active crime scene regardless? ?? If im right then don't you think he gets the "Brain's for reporting award? And as for the investigators are concerned, look at it like this. You just been told that something nasty is in your house and they have to come in regardless of what you think, same as a country. You can't just go wanging in without an okay "officially " anyway

Wayyyyyyyyyy too much text in the beginning that went away wayyyyyy too fast. I gave up trying to even read it, & already set a feeling of frustration & aggravation with the film for having lost out on information.

I thank you for having the guts to go and film this footage, But in film school they teach you to keep written information on screen like that short for the reasons I mentioned. You ignored that lesson and it did impact me as a viewer negatively right at the start of the film.

On the Frontlines of Ukraine's Proxy War Between Ukrainian agony - The concealed war (full 11 months ago   23:58

The West has used everything from signals intelligence operations, espionage, fighter jet saber-rattling, and diplomatic standoffs to stem the rise of Russian influence around the world. These efforts are coming to a dangerous head in Ukraine — a classic Eastern Bloc proxy state — where the presence of NATO troops is driving tensions to Cold War-era levels.

As the armed conflict between the Ukrainian army and Russian-backed separatists enters its third year, VICE travels to the frontline to take a closer look at what international assistance really looks like for those caught in the line of fire.
