Darth Vader is the Mike Tyson of the Sith. My spirit has returned. How can you intimidate someone just by breathing...

If you saw this in the theaters like my generation (X) did, it felt like this to us. There wasn't a need to make Darth more aggressive or use excessive CGI. The scene was iconic to start with and will remain perfect. When we first saw this scene it floored us and made us feel sad, enlightened, horrified and in awe of it's masterful story-telling and theatrical conflict.

It encapsulated the idea of inherent wisdom and egotistical despair. These are 2 old men fighting not teenagers. To me the original scene was perfect just because it was original, raw and made from industrious creativity, not computer assisted visuals.

This new version is very clever and I am happy that fans enjoy its reimagining. It is extremely well done in and fits well into the context of today's enjoyment and possible need for jaw dropping visuals. My art teacher said to me back in 1990, "Here is a brilliant video animation of the prehistoric era that tells the story of the beginning of time. Disregard the lo-fi visuals and low budget stop animation dinosaurs. The story is so amazingly written that your brain will creatively fill in the gaps where the visual realism is lacking".
- To me this means that the visuals support the story, not the other way around. When we rely on the visuals to fill in the gaps of the story or that we rely on stunning, realistic visuals to satisfy our suspension of disbelief, then we are de-evolving. That's sad.

When the fans do a. Better job than the creators

This is amazing, but I could really edit this together more seamlessly if you would give me the tracks with the audio and then again without the audio. Just some redundant shots and some that move around too much. This could be a legit redo of the scene otherwise. Lemme know if you want me to throw that together for ya.

The glare and the smoke take me out of 1977 and some scenes need polishing but with your amount budget and time and dedication yall did a phenomenal job

Why the hell did Ryan Johnson, Kathleen Kennedy, and jar jar Abrams get to run star wars when people like this could have done it I'll never understand.
